TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective September 11, 2026.
1 Who we are, and what Doors does
Doors is a job search service operated by Counterparts Advisory LLC, a Michigan limited
liability company ("Doors", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@heydoors.com or by
mail at the address in section 18. These terms cover the service for job seekers. If Doors
ever offers a separate service to employers, it will have its own terms, and nothing in these
terms shares your information with an employer.
Here is what Doors does. You tell us the work you want, and you can give us a resume to
help. We look for openings that fit, check each one at the source, and show it to you with a
short note on why it fits and what the catches are. We call each one a door. You decide
where to apply, and you apply directly with the employer.
Here is what Doors does not do. We do not submit applications for you, contact employers
on your behalf, arrange interviews, or take part in any agreement between you and an
employer. Employers do not pay Doors and Doors does not represent them. Doors is not an
employer and is not your agent.
2 Who can use Doors
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. Doors is offered to people in the
United States.
3 The guest list
Joining the guest list is free. We ask only for your email. It puts you in line for an invitation
and nothing else: it does not create a membership, reserve a founding place, or charge you
anything. You can leave the list at any time using the link in any email we send you.
4 Plans: the free sample, monthly, and the founding year
The free sample. When the sample is open, you can see Doors work before paying: up to
three doors that passed our checks, with the employer, the fit and the catches, and a
working application link. No card. We only show doors that pass our checks, so some
searches take longer, and a thin search may produce fewer than three. If we cannot find
doors we would show you, we say so; we do not fill the sample with weak roles to reach
three. The sample is one per person. When demand is higher than we can review well, new
sample searches wait in line and we tell you that plainly.
Monthly. $19.99 a month, renewing until you cancel. There is no introductory discount and
no scheduled increase after your first month. If we ever change the price, section 10 says
how we tell you and what you can do. The price and the date of your next renewal are
shown before you pay and again on your confirmation and receipt. It renews each month
until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page in one step;
cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, and you keep
access until then. Monthly fees are not refunded for a partial month, apart from the seven
day refund in section 5.
The founding year. $99 for twelve months, paid once, with no automatic renewal. There
are 250 founding places. Your place is confirmed when your payment goes through. Your
paid year starts when your payment is confirmed and paid access becomes available, and
ends twelve months later. A free sample does not start your paid year. Both dates are shown
on your confirmation and on your account page. If paid access is not available within seven
days of your payment, we tell you why and you can take a full refund at any point until it is.
Before your year ends we email you with the options at the time. We never charge you for
another year without a fresh yes from you at a new checkout. If you do nothing, your
membership simply ends.
What a paid plan buys. An active search for the work you confirmed, for as long as your
plan runs. We show you openings that complete our checks and fit that search, with the
catches explained, in your account and, if you want, by email. During an active paid plan
you can access all qualifying openings available to your account, not only a featured
selection. You can open, apply to and pass on each door. You can pause your search when
you are settled and come back when work changes; a pause stops the search and the emails
for you, and does not extend a founding year or a paid month.
Access before, after and between plans. Your free sample doors remain accessible while
your account exists, subject to a listing closing or being removed. Other qualifying doors
may appear as limited previews until you buy access; a preview never exposes the protected
details. When a paid plan ends, paid only details lock again and your free sample doors stay
available. Members on an earlier plan keep the access their own agreement gives them.
If no doors come. Some searches are thin, and we tell you plainly when yours is. If no
suitable openings have been delivered to you during the first 30 days of paid access,
counting only doors delivered after your plan started and not your free sample, you can ask
for a full refund of your first payment at any time in those 30 days. You do not need to wait
for us to say anything first. If you change your search during those 30 days, the 30 days
count from the change. This is in addition to the seven day refund and to any right the law
gives you.
What no plan includes. An interview, a job, an introduction to an employer, or any
promise about how many doors you will receive or how quickly. Plans are personal to you
and cannot be transferred or sold.
Members on an earlier monthly plan. If you joined before these plans existed, your plan
continues on the terms you agreed to; section 11 applies.
5 Refunds
Any reason, seven days. You can request a full refund within seven days of purchasing a
founding year or of making your first payment on a new monthly plan. Refunding a monthly
plan also cancels its future renewals. Email support@heydoors.com from the address on
your account and say "refund". We start the refund within five business days; your bank
may take a few more to show it. Your plan ends when the refund is issued. Other refund
rights described here, and rights required by law, still apply.
No doors, thirty days. If no suitable openings have been delivered to you in the first 30
days of paid access, not counting your free sample, you can ask for a full refund of your first
payment at any time in those 30 days (section 4).
If Doors closes, or ends your plan without cause. If we stop operating the service
during a founding year, whether we planned it and gave you notice or it happened without
warning, or if we end your plan for any reason other than those in section 12, we refund the
whole fee for the current founding year, or the current month for a monthly plan. For a
planned closure we give at least 30 days' notice by email. Nothing in section 12 reduces a
refund owed under this section.
Outside these cases fees are not refundable, except where the law of the state where you
live gives you a right we cannot take away, in which case that right applies.
6 What we check, and what we cannot promise
What we check. Before a door reaches you, we check the employer's own listing and the
application link at the source and record the date of that check, which is shown on the door.
That date tells you when the listing was last checked; it does not guarantee the employer is
still hiring. Each door carries a short note on why it fits and any catches we saw. We use
software to find, assess and filter openings. Every door is reviewed for fit and catches
before it reaches you, and the ones that do not hold up never show; that review may include
automated checks and checks by our team. We do not individually review every opening we
decide not to show you.
What we cannot promise. Employers close, change and withdraw roles at any time
without telling anyone. A listing that was open when we checked it may be closed when you
apply. We do not promise that any opening is still open, that an employer will respond to
you, or that a listing is accurate beyond what we observed at the time of the check. We do
not promise a number of doors, a delivery date, an interview, an offer, or a job. Hiring
decisions belong to employers. Your fee pays for the work of searching, checking and
delivering, not for any outcome.
If a door has closed. Tell us at support@heydoors.com and we remove it. That is why
every door carries its check date.
Fit notes. The note on each door is our reading of the posting against what you told us. It is
not advice from the employer, not a prediction that you will get an interview or an offer, and
not a substitute for reading the posting yourself before you apply.
Everything else is as is. Apart from the specific commitments in sections 4, 5 and 6,
Doors is provided as is and as available, and we make no other warranty, express or
implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to
the extent the law allows.
7 Your part
Give us accurate information about yourself and the work you want, and correct it when
it changes. What you tell us is what we search for.
Use Doors for your own job search. One account per person. Do not share, sell or transfer
your account.
Apply honestly. Do not use Doors to harvest listings, employer information or contact
details, or to build anything for resale.
Do not scrape, automate, probe, overload or try to get around any part of the service.
8 Your resume and your data
Your resume and everything you tell us stay yours. You give us permission to store and read
them, including with the software vendors named in our Privacy Notice, only to provide the
service to you. We do not sell them, share them with employers, or use them for advertising.
Our vendors work under terms that do not permit them to train models on your information.
To improve matching we keep signals about which doors you open, apply to and pass on,
with identifying details removed, as the Privacy Notice describes. Deleting your account is
yours to do at any time from your account page and needs nothing from us. It removes your
information from our live systems at once, including those signals; copies in backups clear
within 90 days; and the small set of things that remain, and why, is listed in the Privacy
Notice, which governs if the two ever differ. The Privacy Notice is part of these terms.
9 Email and other messages
Some emails are part of running your account and cannot be turned off while you have one:
sign in codes, receipts, refund confirmations, notices about your term, and notices about
these terms. Door notifications are optional; you can turn them off in your account and your
doors still appear on your shelf. Anything else, such as news about Doors, has a one click
unsubscribe. We do not send text messages. If we ever offer them, we ask for your separate
consent first and you can stop them by replying STOP.
10 Changes to Doors and to these terms
We will improve Doors and some things will change. If we make a material change to these
terms, or to what your membership includes, we email you at least 30 days before it takes
effect. If a change materially reduces what your membership includes and you do not want
to continue, tell us within those 30 days and we refund the fee for the remainder of a
founding year, or your current month.
11 Members on an earlier monthly plan
If you joined Doors on a monthly plan before the plans in section 4 existed, your plan
continues on the terms you agreed to, and nothing in section 4 changes them. Your plan
renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account, and
cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for. Monthly fees are
not refunded for a partial month. If you delete your account, we cancel your plan as part of
the deletion and stop billing. If anything about that fails on our side, the deletion still goes
through, we keep only the billing reference needed to finish the cancellation, we stop the
billing promptly, and we refund any charge that happened after your request.
12 Ending your membership
You can cancel a monthly plan or close your account at any time from your account page.
Section 5 says when a refund applies.
We may suspend or end your account for cause: fraud, abuse of the service or of the people
who run it, or a serious or repeated breach of section 7. We tell you why, and where the
problem can be fixed we give you the chance to fix it first. If we have to end your plan for
any other reason, including because the law stops us serving you, section 5 applies.
13 Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Doors and the people who run it are not liable for indirect,
incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost income, lost opportunities
or lost data, arising from your use of Doors. Our total liability to you for anything arising
from these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months
before the claim, or $99, whichever is greater. Some states do not allow some of these
limits; where that is the case for you, they apply only as far as the law allows.
You agree to cover us for losses that result from your breach of section 7 or from
information you gave us that you knew was false.
14 Disagreements
If something goes wrong, email support@heydoors.com first and give us 30 days to put it
right. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Michigan. Any dispute that we
cannot resolve together is brought in the state or federal courts located in Washtenaw
County, Michigan, except that either of us may bring an eligible claim in small claims court
where you live. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer protection law
of the state where you live.
15 Electronic agreement
You agree to these terms by ticking the box at checkout or when you start a free sample,
and to the guest list terms by submitting the form. Notices, receipts and these terms are
delivered by email and on the site, and that counts as in writing. You agree to electronic
signatures and records.
16 California residents
If a complaint with us is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Complaint
Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of
Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento,
California 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210 or (916) 445-1254.
17 The rest
These terms and the Privacy Notice are the whole agreement between you and Doors. If
part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something once,
we can still enforce it later. We may transfer this agreement if Doors is sold or reorganized;
we tell you if that happens. Nothing here creates a partnership, employment or agency
relationship between you and Doors. Doors, heydoors.com and the door mark belong to
Counterparts Advisory LLC; we give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the
service and nothing more.
